Everyone

We have been working on the Witness Test this week. Some classes are done, but some are not. You know who you are. We need to work on understanding that a test is considered formal writing and must be answered as such. We will be starting Act II and III soon, and I am working on some ideas for teaching this. Be sure to have your writing conference notes in class. Thanks

blue 1st, 3rd, and 4th

Today, I handed out the study guide for the Act I witness test. I have posted copies of the slide show outside my door and sent emails to everyone who has email on my list. STUDY! STUDY! STUDY! Remember to write your rough draft before class and you can have the three by five index card. Good Luck, Kimberly Guinn

Everyone

Sorry, I haven't posted in a few days. Life got kind of hectic. Everyone is in one of two places. Either you are working on the study guide with a test the next class meeting or you are still reading the witness. Everyone is still working on the writing conferences. Thanks to everyone who came in early to work. Your bonus will be worth your effort. This is still open to people who haven't done their conference yet. Thanks again! This week will be a tough one. 3rd and 4th honors (white day I think) will be having the test on Tuesday. I will be out, so don't cheat! Everyone else will be getting to the point of study guide and test by the end of the week. I hope to finish all conferences by the end of the week and start writing soon. DON'T FORGET TO STUDY FOR YOUR SUBORDINATING CONJUNCTION QUIZ.

In class today, I introduced the blog for everyone to see. We had subordinate conjunction quiz, which we will keep having until everyone passes it. We had our writing conference and only have three left during class time to do. YEAH! Finally, we worked on the silent actvities during the conference and read some of the witness.
Points from the witness important for the test:
Why Esther is in trouble when she catches Johnny Reeve doing something less than preacher like?
Why does leanora leave school and go to Sara Chickering's?
How does Sara Chickering demonstrate racism without knowing it?

4th 10/7

We had a pep rally today, so class was cut short. I introduced the blog and we continued reading Witness. We started discussing sequence, and began a flow chart and a story line. I conduct writing conferences. Any student who can come before or after school for their conference should make an appointment with me.

3rd honors 10-7

Today in class I introduced the blog, so you guys can find this. I haven't learned all the bells and whistles yet, but I am working on it. We worked on finding the sequence of Witness using a flow chart. We also began work on the story line (plot line). I continued my writing conferences. I also asked any people who could come before or after school to work for their writing conference, to come.

Welcome

Hey guys,
This is my blog for the class. Check this blog daily to see updates to what is going on in class. I will post notes, test and quiz reminders, etc. Hopefully this will become a great tool for you to use.
